Marylebone has been a fashionable area in London since at least the seventeenth century and been home for many famous resident’s past and present. As well as offering up a world-famous shopping district, the area also boasts a first-class eating and drinking selection. Mostly, people visit Marylebone to wander the gorgeous Georgian streets and soak up the classy vibes.
Thomas Greenall founded Greenalls in 1762 – at a time when London’s Marylebone Pleasure Gardens were in full swing. Then, in the 1830s, a Liverpudlian solicitor named John fell in love with Isabella, the daughter of Thomas. They married, and John began working for Greenalls. Turned out distilling was in his blood, as it has proved to be for his son, his grandson…all the way down through eight generations to Johnny Neill, who carries the family torch forward today.
Named after Isabella Greenall, the starting point of the Neill adventures in gin – after whom Johnny’s daughter is also named - Isabella takes the craft of making Marylebone Gin to an even more elevated and exclusive level.
