This month we have chosen something special and a little different - Glengoyne Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky Aged 15 Years
The slowest distillation process in Scotland. Six years spent preparing the perfect oak casks before they receive their first drop of spirit. Barley dried by air, never peat. Glengoyne gives you pause to reflect that it's only by investing valuable time and infinite care that you can create something of real worth.
Glengoyne - it's worth the wait.
Tasting Notes
Complex, sweet and rounded – with a spicy oak finish. This is the taste of distilling slower than anyone else in Scotland, and of barley we dry by air, never peat. The flavours develop in hand-selected sherry casks – balancing deep character with light vanilla notes.
Colour: Bright gold.
Nose: Initial hit of sweet lemon gives way to warm toffee popcorn.
Taste: Oily and mouth coating. Sweet citrus becomes walnuts and a nip of cinnamon.
Finish: Drying with subtle oak.
