Since it's inception in 2014, the Angus based Arbikie Highland Estate Distillery has been setting benchmarks for the high standard of gin quality in production throughout Scotland. Provenence is at the very heart of their spirit creation, with produce used grown right there on the Arbikie Highland Estate farm.
Brian and the team were delighted to welcome back Arbikie this month to host our Gin Experience and Lunch event and showcase their outstanding selection of Gin. Throughout September, we've focused on Kirsty's gin; created by Kirsty Black, the master distiller of Arbikie.
Unlike normal gin which is made from neutral spirit, Kirsty's Gin is created using the base of the distillery's potato vodka bringing an extra smooth and distinctive taste.
This is then infused with juniper, Carline Thistle, Kelp and blaeberries which grow wild in this region.
Nose: Fresh and crisp with upfront floral and citrus notes. Undertones of blackpepper, blueberries and rose.
Palate: Balanced and well-rounded mouth feel with blackpepper and blueberry notes. Long lasting and creamy finish that's beautifully balanced.
In all, this gin is versatile enough to enjoy as it's signature serve, but also great for cocktails.
