Copper Dog is a Scotch whisky from Speyside. Featuring a combination of eight single malts, Copper Dog is deliciously fruity with a hint of wood. It's lovingly named after a vessel used to sneak whisky from the cask home. Created by master blender Stuart Morrison as a tribute to all distillery workers, Copper Dog has its roots in The Craigellachie Hotel, located in the heart of Speyside whisky country.
We first tried Copper Dog at of Cocktail and Lunch event with Stephen Martin of Diageo . We were astounded at the quality of the brands he featured. The 'world class' Tanqueray Ten featured in a 'Floradora' bramble styled cocktail and no-one can forget the amazing Ron Zucapa 23 showcased in a martini styled 'Old Cuban'
But the one cocktail that stole the show for most of our guests was the Copper Dogs 'Whisky Cobbler'
The aroma of this beautiful blend displays fresh fruit characters of rich confected apple, ripe pear and berries with the slightest touch of citrus. Sweet wood and vanilla fugde back up this fruit rendezvous exquisitely.
Tasting Note: Rich creamy mouthfeel abundant in confected apple and soft fruits - with just a touch of wood. The subtle spice undertones, carry the fruit along to a lasting creamy finish.
Amazing on it's own, we also loved Stephen's featured cocktail. So much, we are delighted to share the recipe with you now.
