Brian takes centre stage at the Good Food Show’s biggest crowd puller ‘The Winter Kitchen’at the SECC this weekend. Friday will see Brian give entertaining and inspirational live cooking demonstrations alongside some of the most influential names in the UK’s restaurant business, including Brian, Michael Caines and Andrew Fairlie.
Representing the city as one of Scotland’s most accomplished chefs, Brian is preparing to flaunt his culinary talents alongside his former colleague ‘The F Word’s’ Gordon Ramsey and ‘Saturday Kitchen’ presenter James Martin, as part of the BBC Good Food Show Scotland, which takes place at the SECC from Oct 31 – Nov 2.
Speaking ahead of the event, Brian said: “It’s great to be involved in the BBC Good Food Show and to catch up with chefs I’ve not seen or worked with for years. Gordon and I trained together at Le Gavroche in London and it’s always good to see him back in Scotland and reminisce about the good old days.
“Scotland as so much to offer in terms of good quality local produce, with some of the finest beef and lamb, and the most beautiful shellfish and fish, most of which gets exported.
“We should be making the most of the ingredients we have in our own country and I hope that the cooking demonstrations will show how simple it is to create hearty, healthy and tasty dishes and encourage people to be more adventurous with food and inspire them to cook at home.”
Brian will be demonstrating two fish dishes at the Winter Kitchen on Friday, October 31st at 2:15pm, including langoustines as a starter and salmon for the main.
Last year nearly 15,000 visitors enjoyed a day at the show and this year even more are expected to attend looking for advice and inspiration from the country’s top chefs as well as the chance to buy great quality food from local producers.
